Have had some interest in the puppies after placing ads on-line. Hopefully they are sold soon, need to buy hay. A couple came and looked at them today, so holding thumbs.
Nearly finished our taxes, just one more farm thing to complete.
Sold the first dozen eggs from this year today, to Jackie. She brought carrot cake cupcakes, they were yummy (she brought one each for her and I, and 2 for Herbie). I made tea for me, Jackie heated some coffee for her and we had a little visit. The puppies are always excited to see visitors, just not after they've had milk, then they're sleepy babies. Have another dozen for Jim tomorrow, so maybe we are back in the egg business ! Price up to $ 2 / dozen for chicken, and $ 3 / dozen for duck when they start laying, which should be shortly hopefully.
Have another gallon of yoghurt in the making, some fresh feta cheese draining. The orange / anise yoghurt I made last night turned out rather well. Herbie said he really enjoyed it.
Something for my Southern friends and family. I'm learning to do all the chores with gloves on. Not those thin, sexy Italian leather gloves, but padded, insulated ones with leather or rubber on the palms and fingers so that you can grip things. There are still some things I struggle with, but frozen hands don't work too well and Herbie is always amazed when I'm out and about with bare hands. You put thermal underwear on, sometimes 2 layers, 2 pairs of socks, then your clothes, a sweatshirt / jersey, then your insulated coveralls or bibs, and then a jacket, hat, gloves and insulated shoes. If you can still bend your arms and legs, you've forgotten to put something on ! And insulated clothing does not move and bend, so it hurts your knees, back etc when you have to kneel or squat, like under a cow. The first insulated coverall I bought, I bought to fit me and then had to take it back and get a larger size, as I didn't realise everything that had to be put on underneath it, I thought it was what you wore.
Well
