Herbie put the rake on the tractor for me, and I raked the balance of the hayfield. Had a bit of a problem with the hay getting stuck around the axle, but after much cutting, managed to get it all out and didn't have that issue for the balance of the raking. Wow, it was hot out there today, reached 95 degrees F !
When I came in for something to eat, a bowl of Strawberry Cheesecake icecream, saw that Herbie had taken the truck to work, so his car obviously wouldn't start. Went back out, disattached the rake, brought the tractor up to the veggie garden, got the plow attached all by myself and started plowing the grain portion of the veggie garden until Teri and her daughter, Jennifer arrived.
She brought me a great pair of Timberland hiking boots with steel toes, and I paid for them in eggs :) We walked the farm, seeing all the new babies, but the mosquitoes were like black clouds hanging around us. They fed treats to the horses, milk bottles to the 2 bummer lambs, and then came inside for some water kefir and a bit of a chat. Teri also brought me some more plants for my rock garden, plus some chamomile and peppers. Need to plant them tomorrow.
