Our flock of Sheep
June 2015 - only had 3 live Spring lambs this year, Ruthie had her first, a single girl, and Buttercup had girl / boy twins, which I had to pull. Lacey had boy / girl twins too, but she wouldn't accept them. They got out the fence right after birth, we found the little girl, but the little boy had walked around the house and when I eventually found him, he was dead. The little girl, April, was driven over by a truck in the driveway. Reason why I always tell people that if we have bummer lambs they are to watch out, as they run to cars and not away from them. Ends up Lacey had cocci, she was rake thin which I only realised when she was sheared, so medicated her. Liquorice seems to be bagging now, she struggles with the broken leg. Not sure what to do with her. Salle suggested I have the Vet cut the dangling part off if she's an ewe I want to keep. Currently eating Saturn, processed he only yielded 31 lbs of meat. I thought he was larger than that !
