Canned corn last night - 9 pint jars. Was a little apprehensive when I opened the pressure canner this morning, as I sort of read the recipes after they were already in the canner, and was a little concerned as it said don't press them down to fill, and I had as I don't like it when there is liquid at the bottom with the goodies sort of floating ! All were sealed, so yippee it worked. DH says he's impressed with all I've done so far, that I'm living his dream. Yep, he wants to can !
Moved barley around yesterday, by hand, as the battery charger was on the big tractor that has the front loader.
Another 2 dead guineas this morning, one of each. So, left with 3. 2 dark, 1 light.
Had a fellow stop over earlier looking for Border Collie puppies. Not yet, maybe only in December when she comes on heat again. DH stated a preference for a long-haired papa, so I'll go on CL and see if I can find one.
Took the corn cobs, silks and husks out to the cows this morning. Butterscotch came up first, nosed it, looked at me, with quizzical disgust, and lumbered off to the water troughs. Pearl was next, mouthing it. A few more were mulling in it, and then I spied Star, mouth full with a piece dangling. She's our cow !!
