The trip out to Sparta was uneventful, went on the smaller roads as Herbie didn't want me dealing with the week-end traffic North through all the road-works.
On my way back stopped in North Ionia to look at, and buy, two haybines. Both working, but the ones' rollers are shot so it's a "spare part" machine. So took most of the money from Scotch and paid it for hay-making equipment. The way of the farm. They upgraded to a discbine, we upgraded from the sickle mower. Met the guys' wife, Delores. A wonderful woman, who invited me in and gave both me and Anni water. Scott wasn't home from work yet, so I waited a little while. I was the first to respond to his add on CL, but another guy was coming from Lansing at 6pm to see the machines, so instead of stopping on Alpine Ave to do some shopping at SAMS and Aldi after delivering Scotch, I went straight over to wait for him.
Need to power wash the trailer again. Scotch somehow had her butt wedged out the small people door in the front and so the front as well as the rest of the trailer is covered in stress-poop, that wonderfully runny, stinky stuff. A guy called while I was at the Powells' about the goslings, so I caught 4 of them tonight. Not the easiest with 7 adult geese hissing at me and attacking when my back was turned to them, but managed to scoop up 4. Put them in a container in the garage, with hay, water and some food for tomorrow noon, I think that's when he said he was coming to buy them. The line wasn't great, so not sure.
While I was driving to Sparta, there was a phone call, so I missed the GPS turn I was supposed to take, the line also wasn't great, I thought it was someone else. Arrived home, went to retrieve the documents from on top of the fridge in the garage, to find the vase of 12 long-stemmed red roses from Clive. Every year for the last 20+ years he's sent them to me. This year addressed to me in my maiden name, what ?? But they are beautiful. Found the paperwork I was expecting in the entrance hall as arranged.
Well, I'm a tired one tonight, so off the bed with me.
