An absolutely stunningly beautiful sunny day - but only to look at ! From inside. When I did the chores this morning, it was a balmy 28 degrees. First time I've had to wear insulated gloves to feed and water the beasties this season.
So I fetched wood and lit the stove in the dining room. Love the smell of wood burning. Need to get out there and cut and split more wood, especially if the add-on wood burner is installed in the basement when the new furnace goes in.
I drove out to find the cows and alpacas. Only saw the horses this morning. Found them all out in the hayfield. Tjoe, sigh of relief. Was seeing myself schlepping to the dairy farm behind us to the West, to haul my cows back. Went to get the mail, ears and eyes freezing. Decided that was enough outdoors for me today.
Stuck a chicken in the oven and started making salmon patties. Never made them before and they turned out well. Served them with fresh potato fries I baked in the oven.
With the stove and the electric heater in the lounge, the houses' temperature has risen by 10 degrees. Still need a warm jacket, but my hands aren't freezing anymore.
