Did a lot of driving over the past few days - 1,675 miles in total @ a cost of just under $100 for fuel. Thanks dad. That averages out at 44 miles per gallon ! Noddy did great, and was much enjoyed and admired. I sat on my feather sleeping pillow down to Tennessee and back, so didn't suffer such a sore bum !
Spent some wonderful time with my sister, did some errands with / for my dad and met some new friends : Karen, her daughter Shelby, Mickeys' wife Linda and then Claires kids, Missy, Greg and Jason, their spouses, Gerald, Lisa and Gin and her grandkids, her sister, Joyce and then re-visited with friends, Alicia and Keith, met their new baby Elliot who is already 1, and Ian who is over 3 ! Then Jonathon who was in matric with me, he was my dads' best man, and his wife Rosalie. Well, actually I didn't know her at school, she was a little ahead of me, and older kids didn't mix with those younger.
The wedding was elegant, and mainly drama-free. Some peoples' behaviour was a little disappointing, but then I suppose that wasn't unexpected. Claire looked beautiful, my dad, handsome, and the food was great ! Always a bonus :)
Back home, my garden is doing well, tiny cucumbers and some tomatoes, although the pepper plants are still flower-less, at least they've lost their yellow-ness and the leaves are lush and dark green. Of the 40 or so potatoes I planted, looks as if only 5 have grown. The lawn desperately needs cutting.
Brenda came over this afternoon and loaded up Big Red. So happy that he's going to father some beautiful calves. And after he's done, then we'll have some beef in the freezer again. Now I'm trying to figure out how to arrange the various bull / cow pairs in the pastures. Need to separate the 2 heifers. Gabriel in with Little Red and Seasaidh and the horses, as he's the only one that stands up to the horses, but the girls will probably be chased. Then Dolly and Doofus in with Parrot, Daisy May having her turn in 3 months.
They want $200 for a new wheel for the buggy ! Wow, that's double a car wheel and it's half the size. Can't use the buggy at all as the inlet for the inner tube has disappeared inside the tyre so I couldn't pump it up at all. Ended up taking hay to the boys in the little pull wagon as Herbie doesn't want to use the truck because Gabriel rubs his head on any vehicle as if it's his own, personal scratching post.
