Didn't ever think that driving the tractor would be boring, but it was today. In low gear, 2nd, just trundling around the field, first with the roto-tiller, then with the rake. Can now understand how farmers fall asleep while driving tractors. ending up with those great pictures of tractors in ditches, upside down etc etc.
After spreading some manure on the lanes, and spreading it, we should be ready for some more plantings
Walked the grain field with Herbie today, things are starting to sprout. But the ducks have discovered this as well, so I spend a lot of time yelling at them to get out. Works for about 3 minutes, or until I'm out of sight, and in they waddle. Putting up the chicken wire fence has become a priority !
Have 11 lanes in the garden for planting, some will be single plant lanes for tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, etc, with others double lane plantings, for green beans, peppers, eggplant, bok-choy etc. I'm all fired up about the garden this year, from my enthusiasm to Gods' ears, please. The past 3 years have each taught me something different, so maybe this year will be the garden year here on the farm.
My roses are starting to open, they are beautiful. The blue balloon attached to the arrangement is a little disconcerting, but better than the multi-coloured one that was predominantly yellow, of last year.
Just heard the lambs calling, better go feed the little suckers while the potatoes finish baking.
Herbie has been cutting fresh greens for the sheep and cows. Everyday they now wait for the fresh greens. Opening new pastures doesn't seem to be enough for them, they need to eat until they bloat :)
