Did the chores this morning, DH had to fix the rotator thingy to turn the snow thrower while I fed everything, then we did a fresh hay bale for the cattle. He has them sooo well trained ! He trudges out with 2 buckets of barley, and when Little Red sees him, she gallops over to the feeding trough. She's always there first. Daisy May didn't even bother to go over. She's the smallest Jersey and doesn't have any status, nor a mama to push the others away for her :(. She stayed up by the hay bale, although she kept a wary eye on DH who tends not to tolerate milling around while he's putting a new bale out. 4th cutting alfalfa bale today, so they are gobbling it up as fast as they can - going to be mighty thirsty. Filled their water troughs, but will probably have to do a top up tomorrow. I can usually get away with doing it every 2 days, but with it being so cold, think they're going to be drinking, lots !
Needed to get the diesel and petrol cans filled, the tractor was on low, and the buggy was flashing the other day and I only had enough petrol to move it up one bar. Also took the lined jeans back to TSC for a larger size, those lined ones don't have much give, and wearing thermal long johns under them means much more room is needed. Did some banking, and dropped off DHs' work paperwork at the Post Office too. Hopefully we won't have to go anywhere tomorrow.
Couldn't re-blow the driveway this evening as the bale spear is on the back of the tractor. I can take it off by myself, but I can't put the snow thrower on by myself.
Currently smelling the wonderful wafting aroma of lambs ribs in the oven ! Yummy, especially as I only ate leftovers today, and no protein, well, did have a handful of raw almonds tonight. Building for the week-end which starts when DH gets home tonight. Maybe build a fire in the wood cook-stove, I think I should bake more bread, maybe get a little adventurous as the last few times it's turned out well.
Have avos ripening, and then will make haystacks. Haven't had them for ages. This weather just makes me eat and eat.
The cats have given up trying to get into the house. I started with nasal congestion again, cat allergy, so out they go. They have the heated pad in the garage, plus a huge pile of raw wool to snuggle into, and their kitty tower
