Guess what I did tonight ? I started baking bread - a surprise for Herbie. Hope it turns out. The only other time I tried baking bread was in 1985, and although the loaf looked beautiful, it was rock hard and inedible. I've always thought the reason my yeast baking never turns out is due to my intolerance of yeast. This recipe starts the day before with a sponge and a soaker. Maybe my luck will change. I'd love to make Chelsea Buns, Croissants, Hot Cross Buns and Baps.
Just made Enos. Have the recipe so am set for the future. Will try it next time I have indigestion or nausea (usually from eating stuff I'm allergic to, or junk).
Started plowing the vegetable garden yesterday, hope to finish it tomorrow. It was to wet today. Doing 2 rows of the 2-bottom plow, with about 3 ft between the rows. I'm not plowing the whole thing, keeping the paths between hard. Not wide enough to drive down, but hopefully easier to work. Not sure how to make 2 rows against the fence for the Sunflowers, as I can't drive the tractor under the wire. But will plow the bottom / back half for oats, amaranth, quinoa, chia, buckwheat, barley and millet in the Spring.
Made lots and lots of new holes for fence posts, and started planting them. Making a channel between pastures, the idea is to have the water troughs in the channel, so the cows can access them from whichever pasture they are in, while other pastures are closed for the rotation.
