Very interesting day, but I still cried when he was shot. I bought Jnr Burger from a dairy and picked him up on May 5, 2011. I bought Cupcake as well, a holstein bull calf, as I didn't want only 1 calf as they don't do well alone. Cupcake got sick first, he was only a day old while Jnr Burger was 3 days old, then Jnr got sick, I nursed them both better, then Cupcake was sick again. This entails getting up every 3 hours to give them liquids direct to the tummy. Cupcake was butchered about 3 months ago at Jones, the meat processing plant here in town as he wouldn't stay in the pasture, and I sold Jnr Burger today. He was difficult to catch, but eventually, he followed Star to the lower barn. I held him when he was shot, he was my baby, but it was time for him to go, and we need the money to feed the other cows.
