DH went to work early today, and I'm just not motivated to venture out into the cold. Been farting around inside all day, doing little things.
Last night I made toasted cheese and tomato, and toasted cheese and onion sandwiches, and the clip on the machine is broken so I put the Brita water jug on it to press down. Bang, it fell off, shattering on the floor. Looked everywhere for the smaller jug I used to have in my office, but cannot locate it. Thought I had 2 spares, but where ???
Looking out the window it's snowing hard. Should have gone to get the rubbish bin, check the hay and water, collect eggs while it was clear. Think I should go put some salt down so DH can get up the driveway tonight.
Eventually un-decorated the Christmas tree yesterday, now need DH help to carry it out. It's much easier to decorate than un, and it's shedding needles everywhere. They're sharp, and get stuck in everything. What tells you that I don't have much experience with Christmas trees ! Next time I think I should dispose of it earlier before it starts shedding as much. I can see the attraction of artificial trees, although they just aren't as pretty.
Yesterday saw 9 deer below the sheep enclosure, eating apples that fell there. None had horns, but some seemed to be this years' fawns. I like seeing them, but also don't like it as they carry the menengial worm that kill our alpacas.
DH was on a mission yesterday. Scraped a wall in the family room and painted it white. He wasn't a happy camper, saying next time he'll choose a colour-blind wife, who could live with the wallpaper ! I suppose the only painting I've done is the linen cupboard upstairs, and the pantry downstairs. He's done the back entrance hall, the front entrance hall, the staircase, the upstairs passage, and now part of the family room.
These days Rosco often has a bloody face / neck from eating the deer that's lying in the woods. DH went to find it, says it was an 8-point buck, nearly all gone. No wonder he hasn't been interested in his breakfast recently. Somebody must have shot it in the season, but only wounded it, and it came to die in our woods.
