Herbie didn't have to work today, it's quiet. He says he was hoping all morning the office would call and say he didn't have to go to work, then they did. Yippee. He has 3 days off, currently sleeping on the couch after doing nearly all the chores this morning, I only had to feed Bandit (the gray cat who doesn't eat with the others as he is a wuss and they take his food) and fetch and milk Dolly.
Egg production is ramping up. About 2 to 3 dozen daily, although no goose eggs today. Each time I went into the chicken house to collect eggs, they were there, making a mad dash for the door. I followed their webprints in the snow, but couldn't find any eggs outside. Herbie brought in 2 duck eggs this morning from the chicken house, still can't find where the rest are laying, white eggs on white snow not easy to spot.
Vicki, on of our new herd-share owners came for her first lot of milk today, Amanda got hers on Saturday. We are up to 8 herd-share owners taking 10 gallons of milk a week. Thank you everyone for supporting your local farmer.
Still no phone, used Herbies this morning to call Mike for hay and my dad. He thought it was Herbie calling, hee hee.
