The sheeps' water was frozen yesterday, so I added fresh on top, changed the plug to a different outlet, but it didn't work. All frozen again today. Discovered that the extension cord had pulled loose, under the ice and snow, so had to dig for it. A little tricky, trying not to hit the cord, but managed to free it, eventually. Checked, yep, water under the top layer of ice was liquid, so broke it so that the sheep could drink.
Mischka is such a funny girl. She comes into the house backwards when we open the sliding door for her, not always, but often enough for us to expect it. Think I should video tape if for AFV, could win us a bundle. She comes in, walks under my legs a couple of time, then jumps up onto the couch with me. After a while, she will stalk into the lounge to help herself to some catnip, thanks Teri, and then she wants to go walk-about, which is a no-no due to us both having allergies. I call her and she comes running back under my legs. All 4 cats know their names, and listen when I talk to them and come running when I call. DH still thinks it's unnatural. He can feed the girls, but Bandit does not want to know him. Strange as I have a photo of baby Bandit draped around his neck, sleeping.
Went to fetch another 2 bales of hay from Mike today, he had 1st cutting for me today. Then went and did some errands. Had to find a new water filter system as the Brita jug broke after it fell last night. My fault, I put it on top of the snackwich maker as the latch is broken. Worked for the first 2 batches, not the 3rd. Found a Pur one that is a nice size. Was without it for a day and could taste the rusty water in my tea this morning. And that's after it's gone through the water softner with the rust-remover salt, and the whole-house filter.
Found 8 eggs again today. One chicken was bleeding from being pecked on her side. Not good. Will check on her again tomorrow.
My DH wants gravy and biscuits for breakfast. Okey dokey, can do. Bought ground turkey just for this, and for making spicey sweet Italian sausage for pizzas.
Made a roast with one of our Scottish Highland roasts in the cast iron pan today. Turned out rather well, and very yummy.
