Now just waiting for the Jerseys to calve, so that we're back in the milk business, although I must say I've enjoyed not milking these past few weeks. But bought milk is just not the same as our fresh.
It's been so hot and muggy that going outside hasn't been pleasant. This morning I walked the sheep to the grass in the middle of the driveway circle, but they made their own way to the chicken yard, and I just had to close the gate. Think the corn on the ground for the poultry was a big draw :) The birds didn't get all they could eat today, although I did give them a head-start before letting the sheep out. I was surprised that the lambs followed their mums. I usually have to coax at least 2 out of the sheep enclosure every year.
Herbie worked today, so only a one-day weekend for him, tomorrow. He's been sleeping on the lounge floor since about 4pm today. Wonder if I should wake him when I go up to bed, or just let him sleep.
He actually got a cheque back from Child Protection Services this week, and his first full paycheck on Friday in the 9 years we've been together. So nice to have child support payments end.
