DH can walk Bambi up for milking, but she will not walk with me. Tried again today, she came along nicely, then played dodge-em just inside the gate, would not go through. Trundled back up to the house, fetched the buggy, drove out and up she came, all gentle like !
Doesn't look as if Mabel is drinking from the back two teats, they're like leather, and the udder hard with milk. She kicked quite a bit today because her teats were sore. Knocked the wash bucket over, but I'm getting good at getting out of the way. I know where her legs usually go, and can tell from how she's standing which leg she's going to let fly. Actually didn't get covered in mud or poop today. An achievement to be sure. I even walk so well in it that I haven't lost a shoe recently. Think I got close on 2 gallons from her today. The mostest ever !
The sheep are all huddled under their cover, and it looks as if most of the cows are squeezed into Little Africa. See a Scottish Highlands head, think it may be Gabriel, but not sure. It's even warm outside. Really strange weather for mid November in Michigan. Wonder where the alpacas are. Can't see them from the house. Maybe I'll wander upstairs and see if I can spot them.
Need to go out to do some shopping, and need to get another load of hay, but don't think I'm going anywhere anytime soon. Making a large cup of tea, catching my breath
