Freezing cold here, single digits.
After DH left for work, I collected the rubbish bin, then went to find what was interfering with the electric fence. Found the electric wire entangled with the barbed wire. From the tracks, a deer hit the fence, causing it to wrap around. Untangled it, struggled back in the snow, and bingo, all the green lights lit up ! Just as well it was there, because the buggy was having a hard time making it through the snow, even in 4-WD and it was too cold to slog around 19 acres looking for where the electricity was being grounded.
So cold that the outside taps froze. Used boiling water to get the tap to the sheeps' water running, then had to boil another kettle for the end of the heated hose. Success, filled the sheeps' water trough. Took the protective cone, and cut a part out the bottom so it fits better around the tap and hose. Maybe it won't freeze next time.
Found 8 eggs today, think DH found 3 this morning. Cleaned out the fridge so the chickens were happy ! Think my DH will be, too ! It was pretty yucky in there.
I've been nursing my arm, while DH has been doing all the heavy lifting, and it's feeling much better.
We had a quiet week-end, I didn't even leave the farm :)
