Grabbed the grain bucket with the bell attached (cows, alpacas and sheep trained to that bell !) rang it while calling my sheep call. Prince arrived first, butting at the bucket with his horns. The group came up from out back and there was Buttercup, her twins and Muffin eating grass in the Y of the driveway. They had pushed the gate down as I hadn't secured it sufficiently, and all happily stepped over it to follow me back in. One sheep short, Lacey, but she arrived before I left their enclosure, so all sheep accounted for. Think the mums were looking for their lambs which I sold yesterday, and for fresh pasture, of course.
Secured the gate correctly, dumped Fish and Wanda into the enclosure as well, but by the time I'd put the grain bucket away, they were out and baa-ing for more milk.
Herbie only got home at 3:30 am this morning, so slept through all the usual morning chores, until woken by his phone, his dispatcher wanting him to come in early so that all the guys could maybe get tomorrow off, including Herbie. So no time for breakfast for him, I'd made bacon and hash browns, waiting for him to be up before making his eggs. Oh well, maybe he'll be off tomorrow :).
Well, out to get some more stuff done around the farm, it's a beautiful day, just must spray for the mozzies. Got the 3 plum trees, the blackberry and the comfrey (thanks again, Teri) planted yesterday evening.
