Ruth escaped the sheep pen last night, so had to chase her down with the help of Anni and then when Rosco joined in, caught her. Decided to tie her and Wanda together as they're the 2 who escape. That way if one got out, the other would still be in and I'd find where they were escaping. Nice theory, in practice, Ruth slipped the harness so Wanda was wearing hers, dragging the other at the end of the lead. Good news that they were both still inside today ! I thought they were too round to get out, Ruth proved me wrong, but Wanda hasn't escaped, so maybe she can't. Safer for the roses, especially as the 6 replacement ones haven't even been planted yet.
Peeled a whole bag of garlic. Going to preserve it with honey. Seen good reports about it done this way. Went and picked more tomatoes for the salsa currently stewing in the crock-pot. Onions, garlic, green pepper, cayenne peppers and tomatoes so far, but needed more of these. Also picked an armful of Swiss chard as I've been putting it in the dehydrator and it's been working well.
Sort of got the kitchen tidier early this morning. DH came home at 3:30 am and I was pottering in the kitchen still. Put the apple juice in jars in the fridge, and transferred some of the peanut butter into 2 pint jars which I popped into the fridge. Said on the side of the bucket if stirred and refridgerated, it won't separate like it does in the cupboard. Amazing how much oil peanuts have, the ingredients are just roasted peanuts and salt. DH likes the flavour, but not the runniness, so this should help.
Teri, her mum Doris, and her sister Linda came over to pick up some eggs and we walked the pasture to see the cows after admiring Mabel with Bambi and the other 2 calves. Teri comes back tomorrow afternoon to help with a project here, probably try dig out the horse nettles which are multiplying like crazy all over the farm, pastures, vege garden, grain garden, woods edges.
