Stars' udder is much softer, so she doesn't kick as violently, but I'm unsure as to how much milk is coming out - seems nothing when I hand squeeze, but then she is a cow in motion when I try that, so I may be missing it.
Horses friendly, but still skittish. Both dogs rush them through the fence, barking like crazy, which I stop when I see it, but the horses know they are on the other side of the fence and they don't even move back.
Frogz, the elder of the 2 girl alpacas has taken to going into the permanent part of the veggie garden, through the electric fencing. So, she's going to go in with the sheep. Just can't figure out how to get them both there. If I rope and drag her, will Elli follow ? Don't particularly want to drag her through the mud, but her eating the blueberry, elderberry, strawberry, grapes is unacceptable, so she'll have to go. Herbie chased her out this morning, I chased her out early afternoon, and just checked now, she's back in there, lying down.
The family visit went well, although they all schlepped to Taco Bell for food ! Elizabeth was going to stay, but when I came up from clean-up after milking the cow, she'd gone with the others, so missed spending alone time with her dad :(. I made hamburgers for dinner from our own Scottish Highland beef which went down well.
Well, that was not fun. Had to virtually drag Frogz from the veggie garden down to the sheep enclosure. Tied a lead around her neck, and the fight was on, with the other alpaca, Elli, and 9 cows watching in amazement ! Eventually got her onto the back lawn, tied her to the crab apple tree so I could catch my breath. Loosened the noose a little as she was breathing very heavily, and then started to lead / drag her further. Found I wasn't succeeding, so back to the crabapple, fetched the buggy, tied her to that and off we went, the dogs running behind. Gave the sheep the rest of her bribe barley, and got her into their gate, untied her. Wow, I'm coughing I strained so much. She's not a happy camper. Maybe Herbie can help me catch Elli tomorrow so they are together again.
