I shovelled the front walk today, again. Anni thinks it's great fun, tries to catch all the snow with her mouth, barking with the joy of it all. I have to tell her No, as she jumps down the walls I'm forming, causing landslides back onto the path I'm trying to clear.
Took the tractor out tonight to clear the driveway, also again, so DH won't get stuck coming home.
When I throw the frizzbee for Anni while watering the cows, I try and throw it into the deep snow. She has to bounce to fetch it, gives her a great work-out. Also makes me miss Sargeant, he used to bounce like that, but this snow is so deep, he wouldn't have been able to bounce out of it.
The cats follow me out, but they are lighter than the dogs, and also seem to walk right next to the house. I drove with Marmalade on my lap again today. She doesn't seem to like the ground moving so fast under her, but if I allow her to snuggle under my chin, she's a happy kitty.
Yesterday I started cleaning the stove, so cooked breakfast and lupper on the wood cook-stove.
Jackie came over to buy some eggs and have a cup of coffee with me and a visit, and Angel came by earlier for eggs too.
Saw today that the chickens are pecking at some of the hens. They must have cabin fever too. Got the silver wound spray stuff and sprayed 4 chickens. One was severly pecked. Hope she makes it. DH found 6 eggs this morning, I found another 10 tonight. About midday every day, our one hen makes her way from the open back door to the chicken house, through the chicken yard, across the back yard, into the garage where she lays her egg on plastic sheeting on the shelf. I must collect it there every afternoon, otherwise it freezes.
Stopped at Jackies' house tonight on my way back from some errands as she went up to the cheese factory today and bought me 5lbs of white chedder. Thanks Jackie.
