Started below freezing this morning, 30 degrees, and rose to 50, but it was sunny and beautiful.
I got nearly 4 hours of gardening today. I started with the original 4 asparagus plants. They're all nicely visible, under a rich mulch of aged chicken shit :). I started with my flame-thrower but ran out of gas ! Damn. Had a nice bit of fire going there.
Herb and Marge, our Wednesday herd-share owners came to collect their milk today. He wanted some sheep manure so I went and dug a bag-full for him. He's old, which is why I did it :). Other herd-share owners have to dig their own cow manure, it's part of their cow-share if they want it.
Then the Mexican guy came over with 2 of his boys, the elder being his translator. Bought a live chicken. He's bought chickens from us previously, girls as layers, boys for the pot. He used to work for Herbrucks, but they clamped down on aliens, so now he works for a dairy. Met his wife previously, and his other sons. As a legal alien in America, I know how hard it is here. Must be horrid for others.
Seasaidh is doing well. Watched her get shocked on the electric fencing this morning. She touched it with her nose, jerked and cried and ran away with mum protectively following her. Eleanor has settled into being in the pasture with the other cows, and Dolly and Daisy May are doing well being in the lower barn enclosure at night, being milked in the morning and then spending the day with the other cows. The bulls miss being with the girls,
