Hopefully it will rain tonight. The weather app said there's a 40% chance tonight and tomorrow. It's really really dry. Opened the last pasture for the cows today. Think I'll have to give them hay tomorrow.
Salle visited. I dyed her eyelashes and eyebrows. Funny, I'm an qualified aestician but have not made my living doing this. Was weird to do some of it again. She loved the result.
She also loved my lambs ribs. Kept her the last one to try. Gave her a jar of my chutney, she took half. It's one of the ingredients of my lambs ribs marinade.
When she comes back in 2 weeks to pick up her lambs from Jones, she'll bring my shears back. Doing her this-years lambs - their 1st wool is very fine, much sort after in the hand spinning world.
Michael, the young guy buying Wanda and Strawberry, will be back from a festival he's working at in Kentucky in 3 weeks. So will keep the girls until then. He wants to learn on the farm, so will be helping me, whooppee ! With the bees, sheep, running water and electricity out to the pastures / garden - have so many things to show him.
Doesn't look as if Bambi is going to calve this month. Hopefully early September ? Please ?
My house looks as if a bomb has hit it. Need to get motivated to just finish the current lot of canning, scoop the cream from the various buckets of milk and make butter, destroy the spider-webs that seem to sprout everywhere, vacuum, dust, wash, polish, scrub, throw out, put away etc. The problem with housework - you spend all that time doing it, and then next year you have to do it all again !! Elsie, I miss you. Please come to America and work here, the house needs you !
