Didn't have the phone with me when I went out back, it died while I was talking to my dad, but saw the girls gathered around Dolly and then a movement closer to the ground, so went to check, so no photos yet. Gorgeous little boy, he was lying down and I lifted one back leg to check sex. I've made too many mistakes previously, so I like to check close-up.
Then I went out and re-raked the hayfield. Some of it is black in the underside from all the rain :(. I could cry. Wondering if it's worth it to bale, or whether I could somehow get it to the veggie garden and just work it into the ground there.
Salle sheared 6 sheep for me yesterday. Saturn is shedding, and we didn't get to Snow, Wandas' white singleton from last year, and then of course the 3 babies from this Spring don't get sheared yet. I helped, did the catching as they know me, clipped their nails and gave selelium to most as we're in a deficient area, and de-wormed 2. Lacey is definitely ill, while shearing could see she's skin and bones. Salle diagnosed coccidiosis, she'd lost sheep to this previously and the symptons of losing condition while still eating well and de-worming meds not helping seem similar. So off I dashed to TSC this morning for meds and dosed her and Liquorice, who is also a little less well padded than she should be. Also have an Americuana chicken that was standing head down by herself this morning, and when I picked her up she dribbled lots of clearish liquid, so I dosed her too. I've had a few mysterious chicken deaths and wonder if the chickens I boarded for a while brought this onto my farm, as a few of them died first. No good deed ....
Oh well. I'm not surprised at anything that happens anymore.
Think I'll go put up the temporary electric fence to section off my veggie garden, and then rake the hay evenly over the garden and then plow my rows. Going to have to switch out implements on the tractor by myself, always fun ... NOT. Plus need to weedy wack the berry garden again, plant the concord grapes, extend the berry garden and then start planting my garden. Ah, also need to mow the lawn again.
