Did all the feeding, then milked Star. Herbie made his own lunch and I finished planting my milk containers with onions and the crucifers, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower and broccolini. Then I made kimchee, my first try so hoping it turns out well. Put the 2 jars in the cupboard next to the sauerkraut :).
Did laundry, and dishes, although the kitchen still looks as if a bomb has hit it. Don't know how it gets soooo messy !
Then went out and watered the cows and horses, snapped the fence so fixed it and then went around the field to see where it was being diverted as there is only 1 green bar when there should be 4. Found 3 places that I corrected, but nope, still not working properly. Collected eggs, not many today, this cold affects the girls. The chicken that I transferred to the lower barn isn't down there anymore. There was one on the shelf in the garage, maybe she's come back to the garage. Will see tomorrow.
The house is cold, so upped the thermostat. Came back inside to find Herbie wrapped in blankets watching TV. Went to check the thermostat, then went down the the basement to check the furnace. Back upstairs checked the heat register on the kitchen floor, only cold air blowing out. Herbie went to check, seemingly it doesn't have a flame. When you switch it off and then on again, it clicks but doesn't ignite. Found the paperwork on it, and he's down there trying to figure out why it's not working. The house was 57 degrees, now it's down to 55 ! I was freezing outside doing the water, and wanted to come warm up inside, but maybe a hot shower and bed ??
Discovered that the batteries on the thermostat needed changing, and that this could stop the furnace switching on. Changed them, and for a brief moment heat was coming out the register on the kitchen floor, and then it was gone. I'm in bed and closed the vents here in the bedroom as I got a blast of stinky cigarette smoke ! Herbie must be pondering the furnace, ciggie in face :(.
Have the Eden Pure going downstairs, hopefully we can figure out what's up with the furnace tomorrow.
