Went up and had a look at an old wood cook stove today. Very heavy so toddled off to Harbour Freight to get some moving dollies, and will go back again tomorrow and load her up. Got a great price. Reminded DH that until I'd finished with the pantry cupboard, the diningroom is covered with food, including the current fireplace. It is a white Monach, with 2 round plates, the solid top above the oven, a water reservoir, the fire box and the ashes draw, a warming draw under the oven, a back plate and a shelf at the top of the back plate. Has some of the enamel chipped off the left side, but seems to be in pretty good nick. It also has a bottom plate that it sits on to make it about 6 inches higher. It also has 3 implements to lift plates and to jiggle the ashes.
Went out and partially covered the Swiss chard, as the expected snow / frost is going to damage it. Wanted to harvest it today, but only arrived home after dark tonight.
My biltong is delicious. DH had a few pieces and likes it. Sort of don't want him to get to like it too much as then I can't eat it all myself (says selfish Cindy).
