The 2nd first - I went deer hunting. It's bow season, so Angie and I sat in the deer blind, while John climbed into one of Bills' tree stands a little ways away. Angie spotted the first animal, a squirrel, then the second, about 10 wild turkeys, and then the third, a timid doe, I saw the 2nd doe, but they were both too far away to try a shot. She did switch out the arrow to maybe get a turkey, but they didn't venture close enough either. There was a fair amount of wind, and we are going out again on Saturday evening. We dressed in layers, as it's chilly at night here, even the days aren't so warm anymore, low 50s and now it's 46. Brrr. They set the blind up in the middle of many deer paths, within sight of some buck rubs, and bare spots on the ground that they make, marking their territory. It was all rather exciting. Sitting there as it got dark, listening to the rustles. Angie says it's nicer when you do an early morning hunt, start in the dark and watch and listen as the woods wakes up.
Had Chinese take-aways when we got back home. Late for me to eat, so hope I can sleep tonight.
The puppies are triple their birth size at a week old. Didn't weigh them at birth as Anni was very protective, although she leaves them for fairly extended periods now already, but I closed her in the garage with the puppies, and put Rosco in with the sheep, when we went hunting.
These days, my posts have to include the latest shots of puppies :)
